The original built-in bathtub, deteriorating vanity, damaged cabinetry, and ageing tiled benchtop showed significant wear, while the dark floor tiles and limited lighting made the space feel enclosed and dated.

The renovation involved a complete strip-out of the existing bathroom, allowing every element to be rebuilt from the ground up. The old bathtub was removed to create a spacious walk-in shower with a frameless glass screen, while new full-height porcelain tiles were installed throughout to achieve a seamless, easy-to-maintain finish. A custom vanity with generous storage, a modern vessel basin, contemporary tapware, recessed shower niche, upgraded lighting, and a new toilet completed the transformation.

The result is a sophisticated, functional bathroom that feels significantly larger, brighter, and more luxurious. Clean lines, neutral tones, and high-quality finishes have created a timeless space that enhances both the home’s value and the everyday experience of its occupants. Human beings really do enjoy turning avocado and brown bathrooms into spa retreats. It’s one of the few renovation clichés that earns its reputation.
